Under the canvas

How a spin is decided

Each of the three reels carries a strip of eighteen symbols: one Golden Ticket, two Tents, three Spotlights, three Rosettes, four Stars and five Bells, shuffled when the page opens. Pressing Spin removes the spin cost from your balance and asks the browser's cryptographic random generator for a stop position on each strip.

The three symbols on the centre row are then checked from the top of the paytable down. The first matching combination is the one paid, so a line of three tickets pays 100× and not an extra 5× on top. Over a very long run the machine returns a little over nine coins in every ten staked, which means the balance drifts down over time, exactly as it should in a game with nothing at stake.

House rules

Play coins, plainly

  • You start with 1,000 coins. They are free and they are all you will ever need.
  • The spin button switches off when your balance is lower than the spin cost; a message tells you why.
  • Reset balance, or simply reload the page, to go back to 1,000.
  • Nothing is saved, sent or stored. There is no account and no leaderboard.
  • Coins cannot be purchased, withdrawn or exchanged for anything. 18+ only.

If the game stops being fun, the Responsible Play page has a few ideas worth reading.
